20+ Super Fun Classroom Valentine’s Day Party Stations for Kids
Share this Post
Valentine’s Day is one of the sweetest and most exciting days in the classroom, and having a solid plan in place can make all the difference! One of my favorite ways to keep things fun and organized is by setting up classroom Valentine’s Day party stations. In our classroom, we typically rotate between six stations that include a mix of heartfelt Valentine’s Day crafts, engaging games, and hands-on science experiments. We always wrap up the celebration with a Valentine’s Day movie, while enjoying a yummy Valentine’s Day snack!
Valentine’s Day Party Stations: Crafts
No classroom Valentine’s Day party is complete without a sweet (and adorable!) craft or two! For one, or even a few, of our Valentine’s Day party stations, I love having students create a fun Valentine-themed craft.
Not only do these crafts make meaningful keepsakes, but they also build fine motor skills, strengthen comprehension, and spark plenty of creativity. Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s Day crafts to include in your classroom Valentine’s Day party stations!
Valentine’s Day Play Dough Kits
Let your students’ creativity shine while they build fine motor skills with these Valentine’s Day play dough mats! Encourage open-ended, sensory play by including a variety of loose parts in each play dough kit—think pipe cleaners, pom poms, pony beads, paper straws, buttons, foam hearts, and googly eyes.
Kids can create love monsters, decorate heart cookies, and make love bugs using the materials provided. At the end of the day, they can take their kits home as a sweet Valentine’s Day gift from you!
Love Monster Glyph
This love monster glyph craft is another fun addition to your classroom Valentine’s Day party stations. For this activity, ask students each question and have them color their answers. Then, based on their responses, provide the corresponding Valentine craft pieces.
Mosaic Heart Craft
This Valentine’s Day mosaic heart craft is another great craft to add to your classroom Valentine’s Day party stations. Students will love arranging colorful paper pieces to create their own unique heart designs, enhancing fine motor skills and sparking creativity. It’s a simple, engaging activity that doubles as a meaningful keepsake. For a step-by-step guide, check out the full craft tutorial here.
Directed Drawings
A simple and fun addition to your classroom party is directed drawings. Students can create a love monster or a love bug, then finish their artwork by coloring or painting their unique creations.
Valentine’s Day Party Stations: Games
Crafts are always fun at a Valentine’s Day party, but games are just as important! I like to set up a few Valentine’s Day party stations where students can play simple Valentine-themed games!
Valentine’s Day Bingo
This “Heart Words” bingo game adds just the right amount of fun for students to forget they’re practicing their skills! Make it extra festive by using Valentine-themed manipulatives like heart erasers, candy hearts, or paper hearts to cover each space.
You Fill My Heart
To practice estimation, as well as area, you can have the students estimate how many candy hearts will fit inside different sized hearts when they complete the “You Fill My Heart with Love” challenge.
Heart Stacking Challenge
This “Heart Stack” challenge is always a hit! The kiddos can stack and graph how many hearts tall they can make a tower. To make stacking the hearts a bit more challenging, have the students use one hand.
Conversation Heart Drop
Keep those conversation hearts handy! For this Valentine’s Day game, students stand over a jar or bottle and try to drop real conversation hearts inside. You can play head-to-head or see who can get the most in within a set time.
Put a Ring on It
Collect bottles, straws, and rings (bracelets work perfectly). Set the bottles up in a pyramid formation. Give each student 10 rings and have them take turns tossing the rings onto the bottles. Students can compete for the highest score or simply count their total successful tosses.
Cupid Arrow Toss
Create kid-safe “Cupid arrows” using paper or plastic straws with foam tips. Lay Valentine-themed paper plates on the floor and write a number in the center of each one to act as a target. Students stand back and toss their arrows, aiming to land on the highest-value plates.
Cupid Blow Dart Game
For this silly, high-focus game, students place a Q-tip inside a straw, then blow through the straw to launch it toward a heart-shaped bowl on the floor. Each successful “dart” that lands in the bowl earns a point.
Valentine’s Day Charades
Keeping students active is key to a successful classroom party, and this “Lovely Charades” game is the perfect way to get them moving! Students pick a card and act out the motion, and once the class guesses correctly, everyone can join in as a fun brain break.
Conversation Heart Toss
Using plush conversation hearts, students toss the hearts into buckets or containers placed a short distance away. You can assign different point values to each bucket or just play for fun!
Count the Candy
For this fun math game, students will roll the die and add that many pom poms using tweezers to their counting mat. For a more challenging version, add a plus/minus die. The first to cover their mat, wins!
Valentine’s Day Party Stations: Science Experiments
Crafts and games are always a hit, but these Valentine’s Day science experiments will take your Valentine’s Day party stations to a whole new level of fun and learning!
Poppin’ Love Potion
This super easy, no mess Poppin’ Love Potion Punch recipe will have your kiddos oohing and aahing as they sip on this magic potion drink! For a list of ingredients and how to make this fizzy punch, head to this post!
Cupid Science Experiment
Love is in the air with this Cupid science experiment. Blow up a white balloon and pinch the end closed with a binder clip. Attach some wings and draw a Cupid face on the balloon. Secure a straw to the back of the balloon using tape. Thread a good 15 feet of string through the straw. Tie the ends of the string to two chairs. Slide the chairs apart so the string is taut. Remove the binder clip, and watch Cupid fly through the air!
Soaring Hearts
For this “Soaring Hearts” science experiment, you’ll need a small tray or plate, some paper hearts, and dish soap. Students will predict what will happen to the heart and then draw what they observed after completing the experiment.
Valentine’s Day Party Stations: Valentine’s Day Cards
You’ll thank me for this Valentine’s Day party tip—skip having the whole class pass out Valentine cards at once!
Instead, have it be one of your Valentine’s Day party stations. Trust me—you don’t want most of your students sitting idle while only a few hand out cards.
Set up your students’ Valentine boxes or bags along the hallway or across the front/back of the classroom, and let just the students at that station distribute their cards. This keeps everyone engaged and the party running smoothly!
When students are finished passing out their cards, they can play Love Monster Bowling!

How to End Your Valentine’s Day Party
At the end of our Valentine’s Day party stations, I like to surprise my students with a special treat—milk and a mini bag of Oreos—complete with these FREE Valentine gift tags. As they enjoy their snack, I play a short Valentine’s Day movie, which also gives me a few minutes to tidy up from the festivities.
