Hi, I’m Ashley! Welcome to my Kindergarten blog where content, creativity and rigor collide!
I’m a Kindergarten Teacher who loves live music, Mt. Dew (no coffee for me), and the color yellow. I pride myself on a bright and organized classroom. I created One Sharp Bunch in 2014 as a way to collaborate and share ideas with teachers all over the world. My ideas and resources, ranging from guided reading, writing workshop, classroom management and more, are current, practical and easy to implement. As a self-proclaimed professional organizer and classroom furniture arranger, you might just consider me a tad bit OCD!
I have been teaching Kindergarten since 2004, and I can honestly say that it is the grade that has my whole heart and soul! Before moving to my current school, I taught at a Catholic school for three years. During that time, I was the only Kindergarten Teacher in the building and was left to my own devices for integrating lessons across the curriculum and providing hands-on, meaningful learning experiences. My kinders especially love our daily math and literacy stations, as well as my take on science experiments and technology in the classroom. I believe learning should be developmentally appropriate, engaging, rigorous, but most importantly… FUN!
When I’m not teaching, I can be found organizing my house, pinning away on Pinterest, creating said DIY projects from Pinterest for my home or classroom, pounding the keys on my computer, or hanging with my hubby. He definitely helps keep my OCD and Type A personality in check. Thank goodness he loves painting and is such a good sport about assisting with all of my DIY creations!
I have a Bachelors of Arts in Education and Psychology, with minors in Mathematics and English. I also hold a Masters of Arts in Administrative Science.
Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, as they are the best places to find out about new blog posts, products and freebies!
Thank you for following along on my journey! I am so happy to have you here!
