20 Spring-Themed March Centers for Kindergarten

March brings a fresh burst of energy into the classroom, making it the perfect time for hands-on, engaging activities! These March centers for kindergarten are a great way to keep your students focused, learning, and having fun as the spring season begins. Whether you’re using them for center rotations, morning work, or early finishers, these spring-themed activities help your kinders practice important literacy and math skills while enjoying all the excitement that comes with a new season.
Math March Centers for Kindergarten
These ten spring-themed math March centers for kindergarten include kid-friendly “I Can” visual direction cards to help your students work independently with confidence. Each center also comes with printable response sheets for a meaningful follow-up activity that reinforces key math skills in a fun, engaging way.

Rainbow Base Ten
At this center, students count base ten blocks as 10 and some more for numbers 11-20.
Rainbow Shapes
During this center, students will identify and sort real-world objects by 3D shape.
Lucky Clover Counting
For this center, students will skip count to 100. There are two versions of the center included (one counting by 5s and one counting by 10s).
Shamrock Bonds
For this center, students will determine the missing addend for each number bond (addition within 10).
Basketball Subtraction
For this center, students will use a number line to complete each subtraction problem. They can model each equation by using a dry erase marker or manipulatives.
Hoops From Ten
At this center, students will decompose the number 10. First, they will solve the number sentence by crossing off or covering the correct number of basketballs on the ten frame. Then, they will match the correct basketball hoop to complete each equation.
Froggy Roll + Graph
For this graphing activity, students will roll a die to determine which number to color on the graph.
Froggy Counting
At this center, students will count on from a given number by completing the sequence of three numbers with the correct frog.
Crocodile Comparison
During this center, students will compare numbers 0-10 using the inequality symbols (crocodile > and <).
Rainy Sums
At this center, students will be adding within five. They can model the equation using small manipulatives, such as pom-poms, small blue stones, mini erasers, etc., to represent the raindrops. Then, students will match the correct rainy day kid (sum) to the umbrella (equation).
Literacy March Centers for Kindergarten
Along with the ten math centers, this March kindergarten set also includes ten engaging literacy centers.

Rainbow Blends
At this center, students will decode 16 s-blend CCVC words, and then, match the word and picture to form a rainbow. The blends that are included are sc-, sk-, sl-, sn-, sp-, st-, and sw-.
Cloudy Blends
For this center, students will sort 32 images by their beginning s-blend, including sc-, sk-, sl-, sm-, sn-, sp-, st-, and sw-.
CVC Coins
Students will decode and sort the gold CVC word coins into the two pots of gold (real words and nonsense words) at this CVC words center.
Lucky Nouns
At this center, students will sort nouns into three categories: person, place, or thing.
Digraph Basketballs
Students will decode CVCC words containing -ch, -sh, and -th. Then, they will match the basketball with the picture to the word on the basketball hoop.
Basketball Vowels
With this center, students will identify the middle sound in CVC words by sorting each basketball to the correct vowel player.
Frog Families
Students will sort each lily pad to the correct word family frog. This center focuses on the following CVC word families: -am, -at, -en, -ed, -ig, -ip, -op, -og, -ut, and -un.
Catching Fly Digraphs
At this center, students will help feed the frogs by sorting the flies to the correct digraph frog. This center includes three digraphs (-ch, -sh, and –th).
Raindrop Sounds
At this center, students will substitute the ending sound to create a new word.
Windy Sentences
For the last literacy center, students will read 12 decodable sentences containing a mix of sight words, CVC words and CCVC words.
