25+ Festive Classroom Christmas Party Stations
Share this Post
Our classroom winter party is one of my favorite celebrations of the year! To keep the day running smoothly, I like to set up six classroom Christmas party stations with a mix of holiday crafts, festive games, and even a few hands-on science experiments. We always end the day by watching a holiday movie together and enjoying a tasty treat. Discover a full list of Christmas party ideas your kindergarten–2nd grade students are sure to love!
Classroom Christmas Party Stations: Crafts
A party isn’t a party without a festive craft or two! For one or more of our classroom Christmas party stations, I love having students create a fun holiday craft.
Beaded Wreath Ornament
For this DIY Christmas craft, students will create a simple wreath ornament using a pipe cleaner and tri-beads (or any bead style you have on hand). They’ll string red and clear beads onto a green pipe cleaner, making an AB or AABB pattern. Once filled, twist the ends together to form a circle and bend the tip into a small hook. Add a ribbon bow at the top for a finished wreath ornament that’s easy, cute, and great for fine motor practice!
Holiday Play Dough Kits
These holiday play dough kits are always a classroom favorite! They let students unleash their creativity, while strengthening fine motor skills through hands-on play. The best part? After making their kits during your classroom Christmas party stations, students get to take them home as a festive student gift from their teacher!
Snowman Glyph
This snowman glyph craft is a fun way to get to know your students. For this craft, ask students each question and have them color their answers. Based on their responses, distribute the snowman pieces. After your classroom Christmas party stations are finished, hang the snowman craft in the hallway or on a bulletin board!
Decomposing Tree
Practice composing and decomposing 5 or 10 with this festive decomposing tree craft! It’s a hands-on way for students to build number sense, while creating a fun holiday display.
Decomposing Snowman
Switch things up with this adorable snowman version! Students decompose 5 or 10 by using two different colored buttons for their snowman.
Magic Reindeer Food
During your classroom Christmas party stations, students can make their own “magic reindeer food” using oatmeal and sprinkles. They scoop the mix into a small baggie. Then, they decorate a lunch sack to look like a reindeer, using circle-punched eyes, a red nose, and paper antlers. Add a short reindeer poem inside and staple shut — a sweet take-home keepsake!
Classroom Christmas Party Stations: Games
No holiday celebration is complete without some festive games! These Christmas party games are a fun way for students to stay engaged, practice skills, and enjoy some friendly competition at your classroom Christmas party stations.
Snowy Words Bingo
Students will love playing Snowy Words bingo at one of your classroom Christmas party stations! Just type in your chosen sight words, heart words, or any other words, and they’ll automatically populate on the bingo mats. I use festive bingo markers, like snowflakes, mini erasers, or holiday-themed tokens, to make the game even more engaging for students!
Trim the Tree
In this festive math game, students spin the spinner and cover that number of ornaments (pom-poms). For an extra challenge, students spin the spinner and either add or remove that many ornaments.
Fill the Mug
For a more winter friendly version, the students will spin the spinner and add or remove marshmallows on their Fill the Mug mat.
Holiday or Winter Charades
Holiday Charades (or Winter Charades) is the perfect brain break between your classroom Christmas party stations! Simply choose one student to act out a card, while the rest of the class tries to guess the action. Once the correct answer is guessed, the whole class can join in and perform the motion together.
Feed the Reindeer Math Games
For extra math fun, try these FREE “Feed the Reindeer” math games, perfect for working on 1:1 counting, subitizing, adding, and making 10! These games can serve as one of your classroom Christmas party stations, or they can be used as an early finisher activity.
Snowball Relay
For this fast-paced relay, students will scoop a “snowball” (cotton ball or pom-pom) from one bowl using a spoon, race to the other end of the room, drop it into a second bowl, and run back to tag the next player. The goal: move all the snowballs from one bowl to the other before the other team finishes.
Snowball Toss
This is always one of my students favorite classroom Christmas party stations! Using a tri-fold display board, draw a snowman in the center panel and cut a circular hole in the middle of its body (trace a plate for a perfect circle!). Add simple scenery to the sides if you’d like. Students stand back and toss Styrofoam balls through the opening to “snowball” the snowman.
Santa Bucket Snowball Toss
Set out red Santa-themed buckets (Dollar Tree usually carries them with the belt + buckle design) in a line or triangle formation. Students toss plush snowballs into the buckets, earning points for every successful throw. Use soft fabric snowballs, pom-poms, or even rolled socks — anything light and tossable works!
Snowball Bowling
Snowball Bowling is another one of our favorite classroom Christmas party stations! Simply wrap empty 2-liter bottles with white paper and turn them into snowmen using punched paper circles for eyes and mouth, plus a carrot nose. Students roll a soft ball (like a mini kickball or plush snowball) to knock them down, just like real bowling — but winter themed!
Jingle Bell Drop
Place an empty bottle or jar on the floor and give students mini jingle bells. Standing or kneeling above the jar, they’ll try to drop as many bells inside as they can. You can play individually or in teams, and whoever lands the most bells wins. The vertical drop makes it trickier than it looks!
Blow the Coal
Give each player the same number of small “coal” balls (a lightweight Styrofoam ball spray-painted black) and a straw. The goal? Use only air from the straw to blow the coal across a table into a bucket or stocking held by a teammate. First team to move all their coal pieces to the other side wins!
Classroom Christmas Party Stations: Science Experiments
Science experiments always boost engagement, so they’re a must-have during our classroom Christmas party stations! They give kids a chance to experience a little holiday magic through fun, hands-on learning.
Santa’s Magic Milk Experiment
“Santa’s Magic Milk” is a fun holiday experiment for exploring primary and secondary colors! Fill three shallow containers with milk and place a cookie cutter in the center. Add drops of food coloring (red + yellow, red + blue, yellow + blue). Dip a Q-tip in dish soap and touch the colors to watch them burst and mix into new colors. Remove the cookie cutter and stir with a clean Q-tip to see the magic happen!
Magic Snowman Experiment
For this “Magic Snowman” experiment, just draw a snowman face on a sandwich baggie. Pour a ½ cup of vinegar into an empty baggie. Add 1 teaspoon of “magic snow” a.k.a. baking soda. Quickly zip the baggie. The reaction will produce carbon dioxide, which causes the “snowman” to inflate. Please be aware that too much pressure could cause the “snowman” to explode in a loud pop.
Snowman Slime
This no-mess snowman slime is always a hit with students and probably one of our most favorite classroom Christmas party stations! With just three simple ingredients, everything mixes together quickly in a plastic bowl with a plastic spoon, making cleanup a breeze. Once the slime is ready, students decorate their containers with foam pieces to create adorable snowman faces.
