CHRISTMAS PLAY DOUGH KIT MATS
There are three different Christmas play dough kit mats. Students can choose the “Gingerbread Man,” “Build a Snowman,” or “Build a Tree.”
I like to pre-package the play dough kits and hand them out during our holiday classroom party. During the party, students can use their fine motor skills to build and play with their snowman, tree, or gingerbread man.
For the “Build a Snowman” mat, students will need white play dough, pony beads, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, pom poms, and a felt scarf.
If the students choose the “Build a Tree” mat, they will need green play dough, pony beads, star beads, pipe cleaners, and a glitter foam star.
In order to build their “Gingerbread Man,” the students will need brown play dough, pom poms, buttons, googly eyes, a pipe cleaner, and some pearl string garland.
The cheapest place I have found to purchase individual cans of play dough in one specific color is Walmart.
CHRISTMAS PLAY DOUGH STUDENT GIFT
Simply fill a clear cellophane bag or snack baggie with play dough, the play dough mat, and a few loose parts the students will need in order to build their design. Then, tie the bag with jute twine.
Once the party ends and your students are finished playing with their play dough kit, they can tie it back up and put it in their back pack to continue the fun at home!

As a dedicated Kindergarten teacher for nearly 20 years, I believe the words “fun, play, and creativity” can sit right alongside the words “developmentally appropriate, engaging, and rigorous.” Learning is meant to be fun and messy!
