Simple Mosaic Easter Egg Craft for Kids
Embrace the arrival of spring with this simple mosaic Easter egg craft for kids! Since this paper Easter egg craft is simple enough for preschool and kindergarten students, it has quickly become one of my go-to Easter crafts. It’s an excellent way to enhance fine motor skills as students engage in cutting and gluing colored construction paper inside the egg outline. Showcase these uniquely crafted eggs on your spring bulletin board for everyone to admire!

Mosaic Easter Egg Craft Supplies
To complete this mosaic Easter egg craft, you will need a few basic supplies:
Mosaic Easter Egg Craft Prep
First, you will need to prep a large Easter egg for each student. To do this, I like to cut out a large Easter egg from white construction paper to use as my stencil.
Then, I place the stencil on a large piece of black construction paper and trace around the egg using a white crayon.

Next, I prep strips of different colored construction paper. The easiest way to do this is with a paper cutter. Simply cut a variety of 1″ strips.

At each table, I place a basket of the different colored, pre-cut strips of construction paper, so the students can easily grab the colors they would like to use on their mosaic Easter egg craft.
Mosaic Easter Egg Craft Directions
Once each student has their large piece of black construction, it is time to create our mosaic Easter eggs.
First, I model how to snip the strips of different colored construction paper.

Next, I demonstrate how to glue the pieces onto the egg, explaining how to overlap the pieces.

I like to show the students that they can make stripes, zigzags, or wavy lines. They can even glue their pieces sporadically like a mosaic.

Once our Easter egg masterpieces are finished, I display them as our spring bulletin board.
