120th Day of School Prep
On the 120th Day of School, we celebrate with an exciting blend of whole group, small group, and independent activities!
In the week leading up to the big day (and sometimes even the night before since these activities are so easy to prep), I prepare all of the engaging activities weโll enjoy together. I print the student pages, gather all the necessary materials, organize everything into bins, and set the stage for a day of fun and learning!

On the day of our celebration, the students rotate through a variety of math and literacy stations, with whole group activities sprinkled throughout. I have always done eight stations, but you can choose to do more or less.
To help keep the flow of the day, each student is given a punch card to keep track of the stations they have visited.
Once the station tubs are prepped and the students have their punch cards, the fun can begin!
120th Day of School Math Activities
Gumball Machine Craft
This gumball machine craft is always a class favorite! For this math craft, the students will count to 120 by 1s, 5s, or 10s, as they dab each circle with a bingo dotter.

120th Day Crowns
Another class favorite is this 120 Days Smarter Crown because who doesn’t like to wear party hat to a party?
For this math craft, each student will need a strip of construction paper that measure 3×18.

Students start by coloring the schoolhouse and each school bus or pencil. Next, they practice sequencing by tens, carefully gluing each bus/pencil in order along the strip of construction paper.
Finally, I measure the strip around each student’s head and staple. They proudly wear their special 120th Day crowns all day long, celebrating this milestone in style!
120th Day Sticker Mat
Stickers are always a hit with kindergarten and first grade students so this station is always a class favorite on the 120th Day of School! Students strengthen fine motor skills as they stick 12 groups of 10 stickers onto each space of our sticker mat.

120 Punches for the 120th Day
Speaking off strengthening fine motor skills, what better way to do so than using fun hole punchers to punch your way to 120 in this 120 Punches Booklet.

120th Day Punch Out
Keep those hole punchers handy as students punch the number 120 with this 120 Punch Out printable.

120th Day Necklace
Another fun way to count to 120 by 10’s is with this 120th Day necklace activity. Students place ten Fruit Loops in each column. Once all twelve columns are full, students string the cereal onto curling ribbon to make a colorful 120th Day of School necklace!

120 Pattern Block Mats
With pattern blocks in hand, students get to build the number 120.

Then, they can complete these corresponding printable pages to highlight how many of each block they needed to use to the build 120.

120th Day Collection
For this math station, students will need to bring in a collection of something (puff balls, buttons, rubber bands, etc.) on the 120th Day of School.

Students will count their items by groups of 10 to 120 on either of these mats. Or they can count their items to 120 with this 120 chart.
Weighing Station
After the students count their items, they will then weigh their collection of 120 items using a balance scale and teddy bears, pattern blocks, and linking cubes.

120th Day of School Literacy Activities
120th Day Pocket Chart Sentences
Not only does this station incorporate literacy, but it also ties in some math. The students build and read these pocket chart sentences, and then match each ten frames card to the correct sentence.

After building each sentence, they will complete the response page by filling in the missing word.

120 Rhyming Words
Easily practice rhyming with this 120 rhyming words activity. The students will match 60 pairs of rhyming words for a total of 120 words!

120th Day Autographs
This 120th Day of School activity can be completed at the beginning of the day or at the end of the day as an entire grade level. You will want to gather in a large space, such as the gym or outside if weather permits.

Students will approach 120 different friends asking them to autograph their autograph book. If students don’t gather all 120 autographs, remind them that they can keep collecting autographs on the playground, bus, or at home. This is a great way to squeeze in some name writing practice!
120th Day Writing Prompts
These 120th day writing prompts are an easy way to integrate a little writing into your 120th Day celebration. There are four different prompts to pick from.
As a whole class, we create an anchor chart brainstorming ideas for what we could write for each prompt.

After the students write and illustrate their page, I like to gather the pages, add a cover, and bind them together to make a class book for all of us to enjoy.
Snacking on 120
Students will make a special 120th Day snack, but first, they will write the room as they collect the items needed for their yummy treat!

120th Day of School Activities for Early Finishers
120 Lacing Cards
To practice fine motor control, we thread and lace these number 120 lacing cards. This is a quick and easy early finisher activity for the 120th Day of School.

Race to 120
For this early finisher activity, students will need a printable 120 chart, aย foam die, and 1-2 counters. If a student is playing alone, they will roll the die and move their counter until they reach the number 120.

If they are playing with a friend, they will take turns rolling the die and moving their counter that many spaces. The first person to 120 is the winner!
Dip and Dot to 120
Students will dip a cotton swab in paint and then dot the number 120 on their Dip and Dot sheet!

Number 120 Spin and Trace
For this fast finisher activity, the students will use a spinner to spin and see what writing tool they will need to use to trace the number 120.

Number 120 Maze
The students will locate and dab the number 120 to finish the maze!

120 Spot and Dot
With bingo dotters, the students will spot and then dot the number 120!

Bonus Brain Break 120th Day of School Activities
120th Day Exercises
These 120th Day exercises can be sprinkled in all day long, as they serve as a great brain break activity. I set a time for 120 seconds, and we count how many reps of an exercise we can complete. By the end of the day, we will have completed 120 seconds of each exercise.

Or, you can have your students complete 10 reps of each of the 12 exercises. Just complete one or two exercises in between each 120th Day activity. A total of 120 reps will have been completed by the end of the 120th Day!
