8 Free Miss You Cards for Kids
The end of the year is an exciting time for our little learners, but it can also evoke a lot of unsettling emotions. While students are eager to begin summer vacation, they are also sad to say goodbye to their school family. They will miss their teacher, their structured daily routine, their friends, and so much more that the comfort of school provides. To help offset those feelings, I love to mail these miss you cards for kids during the first week of summer vacation. You can grab all 8 FREE miss you cards for kids at the bottom of this post!
Miss You Cards for Kids Prep
Prep is super simple and quick for these miss you cards for kids!
Simply print these cards on card stock for extra durability, or you can print them on regular printer paper.
There are four cards per page, with the option to print in black and white or color.

Next, cut the cards using a paper cutter or scissors.
I like to add a quick personal note to the back of each card, telling them how much I miss them and reminding them they will have so much fun in next year’s grade. Leaving the cards blank on the back also works just fine too.
Either way, your students will be so excited when they realize they have mail from their teacher!
Sending the Miss You Cards for Kids
After you add a personalized note, it is time to stuff each card into an envelope.
Last, add a stamp and address each envelope.
You can also mail these miss you cards for kids as a postcard without an envelop. Simply write the address on the back of the card and adhere a postcard stamp.
I like to mail these out on the last day of school, so they arrive a few days into summer vacation.
To save on postage, you can also choose to secretly stuff each miss you card into your students’ backpacks on the last day of school.
When they get home from school, they will be so surprised to see your special note!
Your students will be thrilled to know their teacher is thinking of them, even though the school year has ended.
Don’t forget to grab all 8 miss you cards for FREE at the bottom of this post!

As a dedicated Kindergarten teacher for nearly 20 years, I believe the words “fun, play, and creativity” can sit right alongside the words “developmentally appropriate, engaging, and rigorous.” Learning is meant to be fun and messy!

Thank you so much for this much needed freebie! I’m heading to make a delivery to my students today and between purchasing extra glue sticks and markers and providing them with paper in their bags, it’s nice to add a little sweet something! Thank you again!

Hi Ashley,
Thank you so very much for these adorable post cards. I really appreciate you sharing them. I am wondering if would be willing to create something sort of similar but with an end of year summer/ good bye theme. I would fully expect that you would charge for this on TPT. i would think you would have a many interested teacher buyers, Just rambling here….but what about something like….you were the sunshine of my year… I will miss your smiley face and bright ideas…. Something they would proudly put on the fridge.Your post cards have the perfect graphics and message for kinders. I would looooooove it if you could create something to send home as an end of year keepsake. I would be happy to share any ideas. My email is: ca********@*****ok.com or you can text me 519 771-7014. I would totally purchase something like this!
