These Camping Day Escape Room activities can be used for a Camping Day, an End of Year Party or end of the year themed math and literacy centers.

Make the end of the year a memorable (and learning-filled) celebration with these camping day end of the year escape room activities!

Set the stage with a note from a camper:

I turned on my flashlight,

Only to see,

A sneaky caper,

Scurry past me!

The critter took,

S’mores from my sack.

Can you help me?

Please get them back!

Eliminate suspects,

One by one.

Complete the challenges,

And have some fun!

After the students complete each challenge, they will receive a clue from the culprit. A suspect will be eliminated after each challenge. Once all of the camping theme centers have been completed, they will have eliminated all but one suspect!

There are 4 math and 4 literacy camping day activities included. Black and white option included. Targeted skills:

  • recognizing sight words
  • segmenting CVC words
  • identifying beginning blends (cl & cr)
  • composing sentences and recognizing high frequency words
  • analyzing and graphing data

My students loved this! We did this with our whole grade level and had the centers set up in different rooms. The activities were perfect for reviewing skills we had covered and took just long enough that no one got bored.

My kindergartener said it was the best camping day he had ever had. Thanks!

We love our “monthly mysteries”. Great informal classroom assessments. By the end of the year they barely need any support during the mystery.

  8. Ms. Collins Learners –

This was a great resource to put into my independent task boxes for students to be able to work on skills, but have some independence. Thank you!

  9. Tammy E. –

I set up tents in the classroom and we used this resource the last week of school. Kept the learning going and the kiddos thought we were just having fun!

  10. Kim C. –

I loved using this activity when we turned our dramatic centre to a campground. It really helped continue the theme throughout our inquiry.

  11. Christina D. –

This was the perfect activity to wrap up our school year and our habitat study!

  12. Cassie M. –

Girls loved this activity. Reviewed concepts we learned in kindergarten, so great beginning of the year activity to go along with our camping trip. They even came up with their own suspects and did a who done it with their dad.

  13. Amanda D’Occhio –

I will definitely be using this every year! A whole room transformation was definitely what we all needed at the end of the year.

  14. Dana B. –

Just right activities for End of Year Kindergarten. Thank you for including both literacy and math activities.

  15. Corissa C. –

Easy to prep but took some time getting it into envelopes. However, it was totally worth it! The kids had a blast trying to solve the mystery. Took a while for students to complete. Time consuming but the kiddos had a blast!

  16. Robyn Brislin – The DIY Teacher –

Went with our end of year camping theme perfectly!

  17. Bethany P –

This was fun! A great extra to have in hand that connects well with your theming, but gets kids’ brains working in a different way!

My students absolutely love these activities and centres. They get so excited for each new theme!

  19. Stacy C. –

We loved reading clues to predict who stole the smores. The centers are well organized, direction cards help independence and you are able to modify to meet your needs.

  20. Ann I. –

This was a lot of fun for my students to use! Thanks!
