  1. Marcia F. –

My students loved this as a writing activity. It is difficult to get my students to write and keep them engaged, so anytime they are willing to write and use their creativity is a bonus and this kept them engaged throughout the whole activity

  2. Rebecca W. –

My students enjoyed using this to write a story about a leprechaun, how to trap and catch one. Their stories were displayed for others to enjoy.

  3. Amanda R. –

This craft was such a great addition to my St. Patrick’s activities – the kids loved it

  4. Cathy F. –

My students loved writing about their leprechaun traps. This made a great display as well.

  5. Jocelyn J. –

I appreciate that everything was ready to cut. The children were so engaged. We even used our leprechaun around our classroom.

  6. Erin B. –

We used this resource for our entire grade level – 90+ students – to create a wall display and work on our writing. We found it fun and engaging. The only suggestion I have is to make the line on the beginning page – first, next, last – a full line, not a partial one. Our kindy kids were a bit confused as to where to start. Thanks!

  7. Deon Worrel –

We read a book and then used this. I liked that it broke down how to writing into 3 clear steps and it looks adorable on my bulletin board!

  8. jennifer W. –

My students really enjoyed creating these. They looked great for work display in the hallway.

  9. Megan J. –

Cute! Will use this again and again! I love that it hits multiple content areas and is FUN!

  10. Esmeralda Y. –

My students loved coloring and putting together the leprechaun. We did not have time to practice the writing portion to this activity. Worked well as a stand alone project for Kindergarten. Next, year, I will make more time to the writing portion and see if we can make it happen.

  11. Digital with Domenici –

This activity went perfectly with our imaginative narrative leprechaun writing. Thank you!

  12. tracey W. –

Adorable! Perfect compliment to the Leprechaun book. So cute on the bulletin board.

  13. Christina H. –

This is a great resource. It was exactly what I needed and the student’s loved it!

  14. Jody L. –

This resource was fantastic and very engaging for my students!

  15. Accessible Edventures –

This was the perfect activity to plan out the real traps we’d set for leprechauns! It’s a large craft, so it worked best for my students to spread out the cutting over the course of a few days.

  16. Taylor A. –

I teach Elementary Special Education. We read “How to Catch a Leprechaun” then completed this activity. We printed it out on white paper rather than color cardstock like it recommended. This took longer to do but offered the students a chance to work on their OT skills to cut and color it themselves. We ended up with some colorful leprechauns. At the end of the week, they created a trap with craft supplies. All in all, they loved this project! I will continue to use this project in the future!

  17. Erin V. –

This was a fun book related activity. The students were very engaged.

  18. Karissa C. –

We combined this with our “How To” (Informational text) end of unit writing celebration. The kids we’re so engage with writing about catching Leprechauns that they did some of their best writing this year! They also loved making the Leprechauns.

  19. Monica C. –

This was an awesome resource! One thing that I would think would be perfect to add would be a prewriting template:)

  20. Jessica P. –

My students love themed activities and this one was really great! They all took their time coloring and cutting! It took a little while to do, but I had them cut all of the pieces since I have 20 students.
