Roll out the red carpet, and get ready to celebrate your students with an Oscar-worthy end of the year awards ceremony that is super simple to plan… because we all know how crazy it is at the end of the school year! These end of the year awards are the perfect way to recognize your students’ talents, characteristics and growth. Just follow these four easy steps for an end of the year celebration that is fit for a superstar!
STEP 1: Send an Invitation
End of the Year Award Ceremony Invitations
To help create excitement and build anticipation for the big event, send an invitation to your students prior to the end of the year awards ceremony. Simply add the date, time and location of the event, as well as any other important information. You might even ask your students to come dressed in their Hollywood best.
To send the invitation digitally, save it as a JPEG or PNG and then attach it to an email!
You can also print the invitation, and send it home inside your students’ take home folders.
STEP 2: Welcome Your Superstars
Set the Stage
Before the end of the year awards ceremony begins, set the stage with a red carpet entrance. Use a digital backdrop and roll out the red carpet to welcome your students. Google your favorite Oscars background, or insert one of these digital backgrounds, to use during your end of the year awards ceremony.
Simply project these backgrounds onto your board and then roll out some red bulletin board paper, creating a walkway up to the digital stage.
STEP 3: Begin The Awards Ceremony

Now, it’s time for the end of the year awards ceremony! Choose the awards that match your students’ unique characteristics. Edit the awards with their name, date and teacher name. To present each award, simply project the presentation.
Before each award, give a brief description of the award. During this time, you can have the students guess who they think may receive the award. Then, build anticipation with a drumroll sound effect. Falling confetti on each award will help create a truly magical and exciting end of the year celebration!
Next, the students can walk down the red carpet runway to receive their printed copy of their award.
STEP 4: Distribute the Awards

Edit the digital end of the year awards and/or crowns in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Then present the award during your student awards ceremony.
Printable End of the Year Awards
Use the editable PDF to print the end of the year awards and/or crowns for your students. Tuck the printed awards and/or crowns inside your students’ take home folders.
You can also have your students decorate their crowns as a special end of the year activity. Then students can wear them around school before taking them home.
The end of the school year is such a special, yet bittersweet, time for you and your students. Hopefully, this simple end of the year awards ceremony will add to the nostalgia and create a truly unforgettable end of the year!
